I Signed Sam Parr's Fitness Coach With This Cold Email
Here's the story of how I discovered Jesse on a pod and went on to sign him as a client

Hey folks, Kabir here.
Welcome to another instalment of my series where I break down the cold email I send to connect with some of the most influential individuals out there.
Today, we're dissecting an email I sent to Jesse, a fitness coach who's renowned for transforming the lives of some pretty high-profile clients.
This email wasn't just another message in the void - it got a response, and ultimately, led to a new client.
Let's peel back the layers and see how it happened.
So, how did Jesse come onto my radar.
I was tuning into the My First Million podcast - a regular habit of mine - and Sam Parr was discussing his fitness journey. Sam mentioned his fitness coach, Jesse, who played a pivotal role in his transformation. That piqued my interest.
The only snag? Sam didn't say anything about Jesse.
Enter: some strategic detective work.
Using a few keywords, I started digging a bit deeper into Jesse's background, I learned about his business, his location, and importantly, his social media activity. Jesse was active on Twitter, but his posts weren't exactly racking up the engagement.
I made an educated guess that Jesse might be interested in expanding his audience and attracting clients similar to Sam Parr, particularly those in the entrepreneurial space. And where do most entrepreneurs network? LinkedIn.
With that in mind, I whipped up a cold email that I thought could hit the mark.
The Cold Email
The subject line? "Sam Parr".
Why Sam? Well, he's one of Jesse's star clients and his name had recently been dropped on the My First Million podcast. So, I threw Sam's name in the subject line as a hook to grab Jesse's attention.
Guess what? It worked. Who could resist an email tangentially related to a recent conversation about them?
Then I went straight to the point. "Hey Jesse, I heard Sam talk about you on the MFM pod."
This line, this hook - it's simple but effective. It's rare to hear your name on a popular podcast, and rarer still for someone to reach out about it. So, I bet on this being the bait that would reel Jesse in.
Next up, "Did some research and thought of reaching out to you."
This line was all about showing Jesse I wasn't shooting in the dark. I'd done my homework. I wasn't just another faceless pitch in his inbox. Plus, it set the stage for the value I was about to bring to the table.
Now, for the twist. "Read ahead if you're interested to increase revenue otherwise just respond with a NO."
This was a bolder, more audacious line than I'd usually use. But, I was confident in the value I could provide Jesse. It gave him an easy out, but also dangled the tantalizing potential of increased revenue.
The value proposition. "I ghostwrite for founders on LinkedIn. Given your work with some popular people, I'll definitely be able to get you more clients through LinkedIn. I also saw that you're posting on Twitter so it won't take a lot to reproduce that content on LinkedIn."
This was the crux of my pitch. I was offering something that spoke directly to Jesse's needs. I demonstrated that I'd done my research and suggested a quick win - repurposing content he was already creating.
And to wrap it up? "Interested to explore?"
And there you have it, my recipe for a successful outreach email. Straightforward, no fluff, all value. Delivered with a sprinkle of audacity and a dash of flair.
Jesse’s Reply
So when Jesse got this email, it wasn't filled with testimonials or case studies. No, it was concise and straight to the point. It was an offer, both relevant and timely.
And Jessie responded. We began a conversation that led him to sign up for my content creation services. Not just for LinkedIn, but for Twitter and Instagram as well.
The key here isn't to bombard them with a lengthy, detailed pitch. Rather, a short, well-timed email demonstrating your due diligence can be far more effective.
While I didn't exhaust all the information I gathered about Jesse in the initial email, it came in handy during the follow-up conversations that sealed the deal.
Remember, timing is everything. The right email at the right time can shift the balance drastically in your favor.
Here's to your success in the cold email game. Sharpen your skills, my friends.
